Devon County Council are currently recruiting experienced Social Workers to join their Assessment & Intervention teams across the county, with vacancies currently available in:

📍 North & Mid Devon – Taw View, Barnstaple / Phoenix House, Tiverton (x2)
📍 Exeter & East Devon – County Hall, Exeter (x3)

✨ What to expect in the role:
• Undertaking Child & Family Assessments
• Completing Section 47 enquiries where required
• Direct work with children and families
• Managing a varied and rewarding caseload
• Working within a fast-paced frontline environment
• Supporting children to remain safe within their families wherever possible

The service has also strengthened support to frontline practitioners by introducing Specialist Practitioners who complete specialist assessments including:
✔ Reg 24 Assessments
✔ Parenting Assessments
✔ Pre-Birth Assessments
✔ Viability Assessments

This additional support allows Social Workers to focus on high-quality intervention and relationship-based practice with children and families.

• Experienced and resilient Children’s Social Workers
• Strong assessment and safeguarding experience
• Confident court work and frontline practice knowledge
• Ability to work within a busy duty environment
• Practitioners who can model good practice and support positive team culture

⚠ Please note:
This role requires office attendance:
• 5 days per week during duty week
• 3 days per week during non-duty week

Candidates must therefore be able to commit to the hybrid expectations and respond to service needs, including visits and emergencies where required.
