Job Description

Gloucestershire | Permanent | £40,000 - £45,000 + Excellent Benefits

Join Hoop Housing Recruitment and help shape the future of social housing.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that is investing heavily in its housing stock, improving residents' homes, and delivering long-term asset management programmes. You'll play a vital role in collecting high-quality asset data that will directly influence future investment decisions and planned maintenance programmes.

If you're passionate about surveying, enjoy working autonomously, and want to make a genuine difference within the social housing sector, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Stock Condition Surveyor, you'll be responsible for inspecting residential properties across Gloucestershire, ensuring accurate and reliable data is captured to support asset management strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Carrying out comprehensive Stock Condition Surveys across a varied housing portfolio.

· Assessing the condition and remaining lifespan of key building components.

· Identifying defects, maintenance requirements and future investment needs.

· Recording accurate survey information using handheld devices and asset management software.

· Producing clear and detailed survey reports.

· Working closely with Asset Management and Planned Maintenance teams to support investment programmes.

· Ensuring all surveys are completed in line with organisational standards and timescales.

· Maintaining excellent relationships with residents while delivering a professional service.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

· Previous experience carrying out Stock Condition Surveys, ideally within social housing.

· A sound understanding of residential construction methods and common building defects.

· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to collect accurate property data.

· Strong organisational and communication skills.

· Experience using digital surveying systems and Microsoft Office.

· The ability to work independently while managing your own workload.

· A full UK driving licence.

Relevant surveying qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent) are desirable but not essential for candidates with strong practical experience.

What's on Offer?

· Salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.

· Permanent, full-time position.

· Excellent pension scheme.

· Generous annual leave.

· Mileage allowance/business travel expenses.

· Ongoing professional development and training.

· Supportive, collaborative working environment.

· The opportunity to contribute to improving thousands of homes across Gloucestershire.

Why Apply?

This is more than just a surveying role—it's an opportunity to influence the future of social housing. Your work will help ensure homes remain safe, warm and well-maintained while supporting investment decisions that benefit communities for years to come.
