Help shape the future of social housing.

Hoop Housing are looking for an experienced Asset Surveyor to join a growing property team delivering high-quality asset management across a diverse social housing portfolio throughout South Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor who enjoys being out on site, making informed decisions, and playing a key role in improving homes, reducing carbon emissions, and ensuring properties remain safe, compliant, and fit for the future.

The Role

You'll be responsible for carrying out a range of property surveys that directly influence investment programmes and long-term asset strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Conducting Stock Condition Surveys

· Completing DAG (Decent Homes Assessment Guide) Surveys

· Undertaking Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments

· Carrying out Retrofit Assessments to support decarbonisation projects

· Identifying defects and recommending maintenance or capital investment works

· Collecting accurate asset data using digital surveying software

· Producing clear, concise survey reports

· Working closely with asset management, compliance, and planned works teams

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

· Experience within social housing or residential asset management

· Knowledge of Stock Condition Surveys, DAG, HHSRS and Retrofit principles

· Good understanding of building construction and property defects

· Strong IT skills and experience using handheld surveying technology

· Excellent communication and organisational skills

· A full UK driving licence

Relevant surveying qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent) are desirable but experience within the sector is equally valued.

What's on Offer?

· £35,000 - £44,000 depending on experience

· Permanent, full-time position

· Flexible working arrangements

· Mileage allowance/business travel expenses

· Generous annual leave

· Pension scheme

· Ongoing training and professional development

· The opportunity to contribute to improving homes and communities across South Wales

Why Apply?

This is more than just a surveying role. You'll play a vital part in helping deliver warmer, safer, and more sustainable homes for thousands of residents while developing your career within an organisation committed to investing in both its housing stock and its people.
