Social Worker – Safeguarding / Child Protection Team – Bath & North East Somerset

Hoop Social Work, are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a busy Safeguarding / Child Protection Team within Bath & North East Somerset Council.

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established safeguarding service, undertaking a varied and rewarding caseload including Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Court work.

About the role:
You will be part of a safeguarding team supporting children and families through statutory social work interventions, ensuring strong safeguarding practice and positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key responsibilities:
✔ Manage a caseload of CIN, CP and Court work
✔ Undertake assessments and safeguarding interventions
✔ Progress child protection and legal processes
✔ Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies
✔ Contribute to care planning and court proceedings
✔ Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing remain central to practice

Requirements:
✔ Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
✔ Experience in safeguarding / child protection work
✔ Court experience desirable
✔ Strong assessment and report writing skills
✔ Ability to manage complex caseloads
✔ Must have access to a vehicle (rural locality coverage)

📌 Additional Information:
This role is based partly in the Keynsham office with an expectation of regular office attendance alongside community-based work. Bath & North East Somerset includes rural areas, therefore access to a vehicle is essential.
