Are you an experienced Children’s Social Worker looking for your next rewarding contract opportunity?

Carmarthenshire County Council are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their busy and supportive Intake & Assessment Team within Children’s Services on an initial 3-month basis.

This is a fast-paced frontline role where you will play a key part in safeguarding children and supporting families at the earliest stage of intervention. You will act as the first point of contact for members of the public and partner agencies raising concerns regarding children and young people aged 0–18, including unborn children.

The team manages a varied caseload of referrals ranging from requests for support through to safeguarding concerns and children at risk of significant harm. You will complete assessments and short-term interventions, typically working with families for up to 12 weeks before cases are stepped down or transferred for longer-term support where required.

What you can expect:

  • Hybrid working with a mix of home and office-based working
  • Supportive team environment
  • Varied and meaningful frontline work
  • Competitive pay rate dependent on experience
  • Opportunity to make an immediate impact within a well-established service

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Minimum 3 years’ references
