MASH Social Worker | Gloucestershire | £35 per hour Umbrella | Full Time
Location: Shire Hall, Gloucester
Pay: £35 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Full Time | 37 hours per week | End of July 2026 – End of January 2027
Working Pattern: Hybrid – Minimum of 3 days per week in the office following an office-based induction.
Hoop Social Work is recruiting on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council for an experienced MASH Social Worker to join their well-established Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced frontline Social Worker who thrives in a fast-paced safeguarding environment and has a strong understanding of thresholds for intervention. You'll play a vital role in ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time by making timely, informed decisions at the front door of Children's Services.
Working within a stable and supportive management team, you'll be based in a collaborative multi-agency hub at Shire Hall, working alongside partner agencies to deliver effective safeguarding outcomes.
The Role
As a MASH Social Worker, you will:
-
Undertake screening and triage of referrals into Children's Services.
-
Analyse information from a range of agencies to inform decision-making.
-
Apply sound professional judgement to determine appropriate thresholds for intervention.
-
Work within tight statutory timescales to ensure timely and effective responses.
-
Collaborate closely with partner agencies within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub.
-
Demonstrate an inquisitive and analytical approach when assessing the needs and risks for children and families.
-
Contribute to safeguarding children by ensuring appropriate and proportionate interventions are identified.
This is a non-case holding role, making it ideal for practitioners who enjoy fast-paced decision-making and partnership working rather than long-term case management.
Hybrid working is available, with a minimum expectation of three days per week in the office. An office-based induction will be provided to support your integration into the team and local processes.
To apply, you'll need:
-
A recognised Social Work qualification.
-
Current registration with Social Work England.
-
A minimum of 6 months' UK experience working as a registered Social Worker.
-
Previous frontline Children's Social Work experience.
-
Experience working within a MASH or front door safeguarding service.
-
Strong knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and statutory guidance.
-
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
-
Three years of satisfactory references.
-
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
