Hoop Social Work is recruiting on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council for an experienced Team Manager to join their Children & Families Team based in Stroud. Pay rate £47 Umbrella.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager with a strong safeguarding background who is passionate about leading and supporting Social Workers to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people and families.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing and developing a team of Social Workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality statutory services while promoting excellent practice and continuous improvement.
The Role
As Team Manager, you will:

Lead, manage and supervise a team of Social Workers within the Children & Families Team.

Provide regular supervision, support and professional guidance.

Oversee safeguarding practice and ensure statutory responsibilities are met.

Quality assure assessments, reports and interventions to maintain high standards of practice.

Have oversight of cases involving Child Protection, Children in Need, Children in Care and court proceedings.

Support the ongoing development of staff and contribute to service improvement.

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
This role offers a balanced approach to hybrid working, with a combination of home and office-based working where appropriate. During the initial stages of the contract, you will be expected to spend more time in the office to build relationships, support the team and establish stability. A laptop and smartphone will be provided to support agile working.

A recognised Social Work qualification.

Current registration with Social Work England.

A minimum of 6 months' UK experience working as a registered Social Worker.

Previous experience managing or supervising a Children's Social Work team.

Significant safeguarding experience, including Child Protection, Children in Need, Children in Care and court work.

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).

Three years of satisfactory references.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
