Having recently celebrated my 1 year anniversary at Hoop, it has without doubt been the most enjoyable (and due to COVID) the most challenging year of my professional life. When looking for a move from my previous employer, I promised myself I wouldn't rush the decision and make it more about the culture and ethos of the new company and my own gut feeling. This led to me ringing Paul at Hoop and arranging to meet with him and Hywel, their approach to Recruitment where morals, ethics, honesty and values are vital and treating clients and candidates as we would like to be treated was paramount from the first time we spoke. This continued in every meeting we had and made joining Hoop an easy decision. Hoop's team-based culture that emphasises employee participation on all levels and encourages each employee to have a voice certainly works, I've never worked with such a close-knit team across all sectors. We all enjoy celebrating each other's success whether it is in your own division or 1 of the 5 other divisions. This has certainly been tested this year, with the COVID 19 pandemic taking a grip, however, Hoop was, as usual ahead of the game and we were all seamlessly at home agile working within a day and at least a week before the official shutdown. This hasn't stopped the team morale as we continued with our Monday morning weekly meetings, albeit over zoom and this team culture continued with Friday evening zoom quizzes and zoom bingo.
