An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Qualified Social Worker to join a welcoming and supportive Kinship Fostering Assessment Team in Cardiff.

This is a brilliant time to join the service, as the authority continues its journey with the Signs of Safety approach - placing strong emphasis on building relationships and supporting children to remain within their families wherever possible.

You’ll be joining a passionate team where your work will genuinely make a difference.

What you’ll be doing:

• Completing kinship assessments for prospective carers
• Supporting and supervising a committed group of kinship foster carers
• Building strong, effective relationships with families and professionals
• Producing clear, high-quality assessments and reports

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW or equivalent)
• Registered with Social Care Wales
• Strong assessment and report writing skills
• Confident communicator with good organisation and IT skills
• A team player who is passionate about supporting children within their families

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

• A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
• A relevant Social Work Qualification
• Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
• Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
• 3 Years of referencing
• Driving license with access to a car
