Qualified Social Worker – Assessment Team

PAYE: £28.41 per hour
Limited/Umbrella: £38.00 per hour

Hoop Social Work are recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Somerset Council's Assessment Team based in Bridgwater.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, child-focused team working within the Sedgemoor locality, completing high-quality assessments and safeguarding work to help achieve the best outcomes for children and their families.

Location: King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR

Working Pattern:

• Full-time

• Hybrid working – generally 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

• During duty week, attendance in the office will be required 5 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Complete high-quality, child-centred assessments of need and risk.

• Manage a varied caseload of children and families within Child Protection and Safeguarding.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and families using strengths-based and trauma-informed practice.

• Develop and review outcome-focused care plans that reflect the child's voice.

• Undertake statutory visits, assessments and reviews in line with legislation and best practice.

• Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and assessments for managers, partner agencies and court proceedings where required.

• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and improve outcomes.

• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to quality assurance and service improvement.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold:

• A minimum of 6 months' experience working in the UK as a registered Social Worker

• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)

• Current registration with Social Work England

• Experience working within Children's Safeguarding and Child Protection services

• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

• The ability to provide 3 years of referencing

• A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
