Adults Safeguarding Social Worker

Hoop Social Work are proud to be working with Gloucestershire County Council to recruit an experienced Adults Social Worker to join their dedicated Safeguarding Team based at Shire Hall, Gloucester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker with strong Adult Social Care and safeguarding experience to join a supportive team on an initial 6-month contract, playing a key role in ensuring vulnerable adults receive the right level of support and protection.

The Role

Working within the Adults Safeguarding Team, you will be responsible for:

• Undertaking initial risk assessments of safeguarding referrals received via the council's referral portal

• Supporting screening officers with decision-making regarding safeguarding thresholds and progression

• Managing open safeguarding referrals

• Completing safeguarding screening and closure processes

• Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure robust safeguarding practice

• Applying relevant legislation, policies and best practice to support effective decision-making

Working Arrangements

• Initial 2-week office-based induction in Gloucester

• Thereafter, hybrid working with a requirement to attend the Gloucester office 3 days per week

• Initial 6-month contract

• £35 per hour

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with social workers who have:

• Experience working within Adult Social Care

• Previous safeguarding experience

• Strong risk assessment and analytical skills

• Sound knowledge of legislation, models and theories relevant to Adult Social Work

• Experience within statutory social work settings

• Confidence working independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment

To Apply for This Role, You Will Need to Hold:

• A minimum of 6 months' experience working in the UK as a registered Social Worker

• A relevant Social Work qualification

• Registration with Social Work England

• Completion of ASYE or equivalent demonstrable experience within a statutory social work setting

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one

• 3 years of referencing history

• A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments considered in line with the Equality Act)
