Permanent opportunity - Independent Fostering Agency

£26,000 - £36,000 plus car allowance *

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social worker to join an Independent Fostering agency covering the South Wales area. You will be responsible for holding a caseload of approximately 13 foster carers based throughout South Wales. This is a permanent position and in addition you will be receive a £1,200 car allowance. Typically you will be on-call every 7th week.

Within this role you will be responsible for managing fostering resources in an allocated area. You will undertake recruitment, assessments, supervision, training as well as supporting foster carers and their placements. Your primary responsibility will be providing quality and professional services by supervising and supporting allocated foster carers, their placements and completing necessary documentation.

To apply for this role you will need to be a qualified Social Worker and possess a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and their impact on fostering services. You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, have good IT skills and be flexible and able to travel throughout the area.
You will need to hold:

  • Relevant social work qualification i.e DipSW / BSc or equivalent
  • Car driver and access to a vehicle
  • Current registration with Social Care Wales
  • Recent experience in services for children
