Location: Caerphilly and surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-time or part-time (flexible supply work)
Salary: From £166.32 per day (PAYE – no hidden deductions)

Are you a dedicated Humanities Teacher with a passion for history, geography, religion, and social studies? Hoop Education, Wales’ most recommended agency, is recruiting qualified Humanities Teachers to work across secondary schools in Newport and surrounding areas, delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Curriculum for Wales.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality Humanities lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils

  • Promote interdisciplinary learning as outlined in the Welsh curriculum’s Humanities AoLE

  • Encourage critical thinking about historical events, ethical issues, environments, cultures, and societies

  • Use pre-set lesson plans and adapt your approach to meet the needs of all learners

  • Uphold school policies and maintain a purposeful learning environment

What You’ll Need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Humanities (History, Geography, RE or similar subjects) in a UK secondary school

  • An understanding of the Curriculum for Wales, particularly the Humanities AoLE framework

  • A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • EWC registration (or willingness to register)

  • Strong communication, behaviour management, and classroom leadership skills

  • A passion for helping learners become ethically informed, knowledgeable citizens of Wales and the world
