Administrator
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full-Time, Office-Based
Contract: Permanent

Be the operational engine of a growing, fast-paced business!
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding utilities business based in Cardiff, looking to add a confident and capable Administrator  to their team. This is a key role at the heart of the business and is perfect for someone who thrives on variety, takes pride in getting things right, and enjoys building strong working relationships.

This isn’t just admin- it’s an opportunity to take ownership of vital systems and processes, influence supplier relationships, and play a central role in keeping field and office operations running efficiently. If you’re organised, switched on, and ready for a role where your voice and ideas will be heard, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.

What you'll be doing:
This is a hands-on, problem-solving role where no two days are the same. Working closely with the Office Manager, you’ll handle procurement, coordinate accommodation and materials for field workers, and ensure systems and documentation are kept in excellent order.

  • Raise and track purchase orders

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers, securing competitive quotes

  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve delivery issues

  • Use Sage to process invoices and monitor costs

  • Coordinate accommodation bookings for field teams

  • Support ISO 9001 and 45001 systems – training provided

  • Maintain internal documentation and assist with audits

  • Keep operations moving by staying one step ahead

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience in purchasing, plant hire, administration or operational support

  • Can juggle tasks with ease, stay calm under pressure, and keep things moving

  • Are confident communicating with suppliers and team members alike

  • Have working knowledge of Sage or are willing to learn

  • Understand purchase order and invoice processes

  • Are proactive, reliable and detail-focused

  • Prefer working on-site in a friendly, team-oriented environment

  • Are looking to build a long-term career with a company that values loyalty and growth

Why join?

  • Competitive starting salary of £27,000 – rising to £28,000 after probation

  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays – with a two-week Christmas shutdown

  • Supportive and approachable management team

  • Full training provided on internal systems and ISO procedures

  • Long-term career path with a growing company

  • No two days the same -a genuine opportunity to make the role your own

Working hours and environment

  • Office-based in Cardiff

  • Team of 7 in the office, 15 field staff on sites across the region

  • Monday to Friday

  • Flexible lunch break and staggered start times between 8am and 5pm
