Are you brilliant at connecting with young people, building relationships in the local community and getting people genuinely excited about new opportunities?

We're recruiting for a Youth Engagement Officer to join a well-established, employee-owned training and employability organisation supporting young people across South Wales.

This is an energetic, people-focused role where you'll be out in the community, building local networks and engaging with young people who could benefit from training, work experience and employability support.

The role Your focus will be on identifying, engaging and recruiting young people onto the Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) programme.

Your role will include:

  • Engaging and recruiting young people onto the JGW+ programme

  • Building relationships with schools, community groups and local organisations

  • Developing new partnerships and strengthening existing referral networks

  • Using outreach, networking, digital activity and telephone engagement to reach new learners

  • Attending community events and engaging directly with young people

  • Developing a strong understanding of local communities and available support networks

What we're looking for We're looking for someone outgoing, proactive and passionate about creating opportunities for young people.

  • Confidence building relationships with schools, community organisations and partner agencies

  • A proactive approach to outreach and developing new connections

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • The ability to engage and motivate people from a wide range of backgrounds

Experience within post-16 education, youth services, employability, outreach, recruitment or a community-based organisation would be particularly beneficial.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential due to the travel involved across the region.

A DBS check and EWC registration will also be required, with the cost of the DBS covered by the employer.

What's in it for you? Alongside a salary of £25,000 – £27,000, you'll receive:

  • 35-hour working week

  • Healthcare scheme

  • Retail and gym discounts

  • Profit-sharing scheme

  • Life insurance

  • Employee recognition awards

  • Length of service recognition

  • The opportunity to join an employee-owned organisation where your voice and contribution are genuinely valued
