Social Worker – Children Looked After

Location: Keynsham Civic Centre, Bath & North East Somerset
Pay rate: £38 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Initial 3-month contract
Hours: 37 hours per week

Hoop Social Work is recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children in Care team at Bath & North East Somerset Council (B&NES) on an initial 3-month contract.

This is a great opportunity for a committed social worker to support children and young people who are looked after, helping to promote their safety, stability and wellbeing.

The role

• Working within the Children in Care team, supporting looked-after children and young people.

• Undertaking social work duties to ensure children's needs, safety and welfare remain central to planning and decision-making.

• Working collaboratively with families, carers and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children.

• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring assessments, care plans and reviews are completed in line with statutory requirements.

Working arrangements

• 37 hours per week.

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30am–5:00pm.

• Friday: 8:30am–4:30pm.

• The role will be based primarily at Keynsham Civic Centre, with some home working available. This can be discussed at interview.

• Access to a vehicle is preferable, as B&NES covers some rural areas.

Pay rate: £38 per hour Umbrella.

What you'll need to apply

• A recognised Social Work qualification.

• Current registration with Social Work England.

• A minimum of 6 months' experience working in the UK as a registered social worker.

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.

• Three years of referencing.

• A driving licence and access to a car.
