Assistant Team Manager | Children's Services | Wiltshire | Full Time

Location: Wiltshire (County-wide)
Contract: Full Time | 37 hours per week | Initial 3-month contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 50% of administrative time can be worked remotely, with a minimum of one office day per week. Pay rate £42 Umbrella.

Hoop Social Work is recruiting on behalf of Wiltshire Council for two experienced Assistant Team Managers to join Children's Services on an initial three-month contract.

These are fantastic opportunities for experienced senior practitioners or existing Assistant Team Managers looking for a varied and rewarding leadership role within a supportive local authority.

Office-based working can be carried out from one or more of the following locations:

  • County Hall, Trowbridge

  • Bourne Hill, Salisbury

  • Monkton Park, Chippenham

Available Opportunities

Assistant Team Manager – Children & Young People's Disability Team (CYPDT)

This county-wide role has been created to provide essential management oversight during a period of reduced substantive management capacity. You'll play a key role in ensuring safe service delivery, providing supervision and supporting the team to maintain high-quality practice and positive outcomes for children and families.

Peripatetic Assistant Team Manager

This county-wide, flexible management role will provide leadership and operational support across Children's Services teams experiencing temporary capacity pressures. You'll work across different teams where required, strengthening management oversight, supporting practitioners and helping to maintain consistent standards of practice across the service.

Both roles offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with office locations determined by service need.

To apply, you'll need:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification.

  • Current registration with Social Work England.

  • A minimum of 6 months' UK experience working as a registered Social Worker.

  • Previous experience supervising or managing Children's Social Work staff.

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).

  • Three years of satisfactory references.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
