Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team

Hoop Social Work are working with Carmarthenshire Council to recruit a Qualified Social Worker to join their busy Children with Disabilities / Complex Needs Team based in Llanelli. This is a full-time locum opportunity offering £38.43 per hour, with the team looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Initial 3 month contract with potential to extend.

The post is based with the 0–25 Disability Team at Ty Elwyn, Llanelli. The team work on a full-time, flexi-time basis, with the opportunity to work from home approximately 1 day per week. This is a great opportunity for an experienced social worker with a background in children’s disability or complex needs work, who is able to travel to Llanelli for appointments and meetings.

Main duties will include:

• Completing needs assessments

• Transition planning

• Safeguarding

• Support coordination

• Arranging and reviewing short breaks

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

• A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker

• A relevant Social Work Qualification

• Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England

• Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS

• 3 Years of referencing

• Driving license with access to a car
