Homebased – Bristol & Surrounding Areas (including Bath & South Gloucestershire)
35 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Permanent
£42,032 per annum + £750 Homeworking Allowance + £1,500 OOH Allowance (once on rota)

The Role
As a Senior Supervising Social Worker, you will play a key role in supporting foster carers and ensuring the highest standards of care for children and young people.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting a caseload of foster carers and children
- Ensuring children are safe, well cared for, and achieving positive outcomes
- Undertaking Form F assessments where required
- Facilitating support groups and delivering training to carers
- Contributing to service development and supporting colleagues
- Maintaining accurate records on internal systems (e.g. CHARMS)
- Participating in the Out of Hours rota
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in fostering, family placements, or childcare settings
- Experience supporting 10–12 foster families with complex needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, the Children Act and fostering standards
- Experience of working with looked-after children and foster carers
- Confident delivering training and group work
- Highly organised with strong IT skills and ability to work remotely
Salary & Benefits
- £42,032 salary
- £750 annual homeworking allowance

- Salary progression after 18 months
- 45p per mile mileage

Travel Requirements
- Primarily home-based
- Monthly face-to-face meetings across the South West
- Additional travel for training and foster carer events
