Senior Supervising Social Worker - Fostering

Homebased – Bristol & Surrounding Areas (including Bath & South Gloucestershire)
35 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Permanent
£42,032 per annum + £750 Homeworking Allowance + £1,500 OOH Allowance (once on rota)

The Role

As a Senior Supervising Social Worker, you will play a key role in supporting foster carers and ensuring the highest standards of care for children and young people.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and supporting a caseload of foster carers and children
  • Ensuring children are safe, well cared for, and achieving positive outcomes
  • Undertaking Form F assessments where required
  • Facilitating support groups and delivering training to carers
  • Contributing to service development and supporting colleagues
  • Maintaining accurate records on internal systems (e.g. CHARMS)
  • Participating in the Out of Hours rota

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in fostering, family placements, or childcare settings
  • Experience supporting 10–12 foster families with complex needs
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, the Children Act and fostering standards
  • Experience of working with looked-after children and foster carers
  • Confident delivering training and group work
  • Highly organised with strong IT skills and ability to work remotely

Salary & Benefits

  • £42,032 salary
  • £750 annual homeworking allowance
  • £1,500 Out of Hours allowance (once on rota)
  • Salary progression after 18 months
  • 45p per mile mileage

Travel Requirements
