HR Generalist – Vale of Glamorgan
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Location: Vale of Glamorgan (site-based, with flexibility when the role allows)
Contract: Fixed Term (16–18 months)
  
Hoop Professional Services & HR are thrilled to be partnering with a global organisation seeking an ambitious HR Generalist ready to make a real impact. This is a hands-on, influential role for a professional eager to shape HR processes, policies, and culture within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  
As a central member of the UK HR team, you’ll provide essential HR and employee relations advice to managers and employees, working closely with senior leadership to ensure compliance and consistency across the business. Joining during a crucial period, you’ll play a key role in driving improvements and delivering practical, people-focused solutions.
  
Reporting to the Head of HR, this position offers exposure to executive-level decision-making, international collaboration, and the chance to develop a broad, valuable HR skill set in a supportive environment. You’ll benefit from a competitive salary of £40,000–£45,000 (DOE), 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and an auto-enrolment pension, while contributing to meaningful HR initiatives in a site-based role with flexibility. What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide hands-on HR and employee relations advice, managing complex casework confidently and independently.
- Coach and mentor managers to build capability and confidence in handling people matters effectively.
- Develop and improve HR policies and processes, ensuring compliance, fairness, and best practice.
- Support end-to-end recruitment activity, coordinating high-volume vacancies and onboarding processes.
- Provide advisory support on international HR matters, collaborating with colleagues globally.
- Oversee day-to-day HR administration, including payroll adjustments, starters, leavers, and bonus processing.
- Adapt and respond to a fast-paced, evolving environment, managing multiple priorities with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Contribute to a collaborative, pragmatic HR culture, where teamwork and flexibility are valued.
- Work flexibly when required to engage with international colleagues across time zones.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a generalist HR professional with a solid understanding of UK employment law.
- Confident managing complex employee relations cases from investigation to resolution.
- Strong influencing, coaching, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Experience driving HR process improvements, developing policies, or implementing new systems.
- A hands-on, adaptable approach, comfortable working across employee relations, recruitment, and generalist HR functions.
- Resilient, organised, and capable of delivering in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Able to engage effectively with operational and leadership teams, bringing a practical and approachable style.
- CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is essential.
