Damp & Mould Surveyor


South Wales | 6 Month + Contracts | Weekly Pay | £25-£31ph

Hoop Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced Damp & Mould Surveyors to support Housing Association clients across South Wales on a range of interim contract assignments.

These contracts typically run for 6months and offer competitive rates, weekly pay, and the potential to secure permanent opportunities.

The Role

Working within social housing environments, you will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and managing damp, mould, condensation, and related building defects across residential housing stock. You will play a key role in helping landlords improve property conditions, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance tenant wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed property inspections to identify causes of damp, mould, and condensation issues.
  • Diagnose building defects and recommend appropriate remedial solutions.
  • Produce clear survey reports, specifications, and schedules of works.
  • Manage remedial works from diagnosis through to completion.
  • Monitor contractor performance and undertake post-inspection quality checks.
  • Provide technical advice to tenants and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, housing standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to performance reporting where required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Damp & Mould Surveyor, Building Surveyor, or Property Surveyor within social housing, housing associations, or local authority environments.
  • Strong knowledge of damp, mould, condensation, building pathology, and residential construction.
  • Experience producing technical reports and managing remedial works.
  • Good understanding of housing regulations and property compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
