About the Role
Hoop Social Care are working with a specialist third-sector service supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse, violence against women, and displacement.
We are seeking compassionate and resilient Support Workers to join the team on a part-time basis, delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive support to young people within safe accommodation and community-based settings.
This is a highly rewarding role where you will empower children and young people to rebuild confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, child-centred support to children and young people
- Support those who may have experienced domestic abuse, VAWDASV, or displacement
- Promote emotional wellbeing, safety, and resilience
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities to support development and recovery
- Work within a culturally sensitive and inclusive framework, respecting diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Support young people to access education, health, and community services
- Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and organisational requirements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies
Requirements
- Experience working with children and/or young people (essential)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
- A caring, empathetic, and resilient approach
Desirable:

NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent (essential)

Registration with Social Care Wales

DBS on the update service (essential)

Full UK driving licence (desirable)
