Job Description
Youth Offending Social Worker
South Wales
Contract until end of March 2026
Pay rate up to £35.32 per hour
A South Wales based Youth Offending Service whose principal aim is the prevention of anti-social behavior, offending and re-offending by children and young people are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join them for an initial 6 month contract. This role will primarily be home based.
As part of the Youth Offending Service you will provide a range of integrated services and interventions to young people and their families. This will include providing support to young people in the Criminal Justice System who display challenging, anti-social and offending behavior.
Experience of working with young people and of multi-agency working is essential. Candidates to this post will also be required to hold a recognised social work qualification (DIPSW, CQSW, CSS etc.) or probation qualification.
This post is based in an experienced service, which offers excellent support and supervision and professional development opportunities. You will be expected to cover across two local authorities.
To apply for this role, you will need to hold -
- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker or probation officer
- A relevant Social Work Qualification or probation qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England if you are a social worker
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
