Youth Justice Officer

 

Pay rate - £33 Umbrella

''To help us continue with our positive progress to date, we are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced SYJS practitioner to join the service. The post is offered on a full-time temporary basis and will sit within the Case Management Team. You will have an understanding of the criminal justice system as it affects children and young people (aged 10 –17) who offend; a practical understanding of the principles of restorative justice and restorative approaches, have experience of working with disaffected children and young people and able to evidence building positive relationships with young people, their families and partner agencies. The successful candidate will have experience of undertaking assessments and managing complex cases, in addition to planning appropriate and targeted interventions to reduce the risk of offending/re-offending. They also need to have the ability to write high quality reports including preparing sentencing proposals and will present information to the Courts when required. Must be in possession of a recognised professional Social Work/ Probation Qualification or a degree in a related discipline eg. Youth Justice, Youth work, Criminology etc.'

  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
