Job Description
Permanency Team Social Worker
Gloucestershire
up to £41 per hour Umbrella company
A Qualified Social Worker is required to join Gloucestershire's Children in Care team based in Gloucester. This is a full time position offering 37 hours per week, and the contract will run from mid July until mid January 2026. Pay rate for this position is fixed by the LA at £41 per hour, payrolled via Umbrella. PAYE options are also available. Expenses package is also available up to £150 per week towards accomodation and mileage - terms and conditions apply. Home working opportunities are available with the expectation that workers will come into the office 3 days per week and visit people to undertake the work when needed. This is subject to change and the candidate should be flexible to meet the Teams’ needs.
The authority are looking for an experienced Social Worker who understands the need for permanence for young people and who will demonstrate grip and tenacity to ensure young people feel safe and secure to enable them to achieve their potential. It is essential that candidates have experience or are skilled at writing CPR’s (child permanence report) under supervision. You will need to have knowledge and practice of working with children in care and considering their needs fully, a good understanding of family finding and matching with adopters, including completion of relevant Court reports and support plans.

- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
