Job Description

Social Worker – Learning Disability, Autism, Hearing & Vision Service
Keynsham Civic Centre (Hybrid)
37 hours per week | Contract until end of June
Pay rate discussed at interview

We are currently seeking a proactive, skilled and experienced Social Worker to join the Learning Disability, Autism, Hearing & Vision Service on a short-term contract until the end of June.

This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office at Keynsham Civic Centre, alongside regular travel across the local area for visits and assessments. Candidates should ideally be locally based and have access to their own vehicle due to the nature of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking Care Act Assessments

  • Completing Mental Capacity Assessments

  • Managing and progressing safeguarding enquiries

  • Working collaboratively with individuals, families, and partner agencies

  • Supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and sensory impairments

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration

  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism, or sensory needs

  • Strong knowledge of Care Act legislation and safeguarding processes

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently

  • Flexible approach to hybrid working

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred due to local travel requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner looking for a short-term role within a supportive adult services team.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
