Social Work Assistant - Adults Services

Pay rate starting at £16.08 per hour (holiday pay accrued on top of this)
Social Work Assistants are required to join Adults Social Services within the Neighbourhood Network Teams.
Contracts will run for an 18 month period month. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to pursue a career in social work, to gain some experience in a statutory adults services team. A background in adults services i.e a reviewing officers / deputy team manager from a residential background etc. is essential for this position. Ideally you will be able to work on a full time basis of 37 hours per week. These roles can offer an immediate start. Pay rate for this position is starting at £16.08 per hour, holidays will be paid on top of this either weekly or accrued for when you would like to be paid holiday.
These posts will require you to participate in duty rota and signpost to relevant departments and agencies. You will work on a hybrid basis with 2 on site days per week at Newport Civic Centre. You will go out on CRT referrals and support with the completion of assessments where appropriate.
To apply for this role, you will have ideally have experience of working within adults services and undertaking assessments of people, their families and carers. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team would be highly advantageous as would use of WICCIS, although not essential. A car driver is also essential for this position as you will be required to travel across the borough. Mileage will be reimbursed at 45p per mile.
