Job Description

Mental Health - Social Worker

 

Pay rate - £38.56 Umbrella

 

Somerset Council 

 

To provide high-quality social work interventions to adults experiencing mental health difficulties, ensuring statutory duties are met and promoting recovery, independence, and wellbeing. The position is located in Bridgwater and is available until August 2026 to cover for a secondment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Care Act assessments, support planning, and reviews for individuals with mental health needs.
  • Apply the principles of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act in practice.
  • Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing, voluntary sector, and other agencies to deliver integrated care.
  • Manage a complex caseload, prioritising safeguarding and risk management.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to discharge planning from inpatient settings.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.
  • Respond promptly to urgent situations and adapt to changing priorities.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
