Team Manager – Safeguarding Adults

Devon | Locum Contract until May (initially) | Hybrid Working

Initial contract until May, with potential for extension

Pay rate £41.44 Umbrella 

At Hoop Recruitment, we understand the complexity and responsibility that comes with safeguarding adults. We’re proud to be supporting Devon County Council in their search for an experienced Team Manager to join the Devon Safeguarding Adults Service.

This service receives and responds to safeguarding adult referrals across the county, playing a vital role in protecting some of the most vulnerable people in Devon. We’re looking for a confident, knowledgeable leader with exceptional safeguarding adults experience who can support continuous development and high-quality practice across the service. 

The Role

As Team Manager, you’ll work alongside a skilled and committed workforce including Social Care Assessors, Social Workers, Advanced Practitioners, and fellow Team Managers. You’ll provide professional leadership, oversight, and decision-making in a fast-paced safeguarding environment.

This is a role for someone who is autonomous, adaptable, and able to work at pace, while maintaining strong standards and supporting teams to deliver excellent outcomes.

Working Pattern & Location

  • Monday to Friday | 9am – 5pm

  • Hybrid working – office and home-based (subject to service needs)

  • Minimum of 2 days per week in the office

  • Office base options available in:

    • Newton Abbot

    • Exeter

    • North Devon

Please note: candidates must be able to commit to office attendance. Applications from those unable to meet this requirement cannot be considered.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Team Manager within Safeguarding Adults

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, and best practice

  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a high-demand environment

  • Enhanced DBS including Children’s and Adults’ Barred Lists

  • Ability to manage workload expectations and support service development
