Independent Reviewing Officer
Bath
up to £49.88 Umbrella
Bath and North East Somerset are looking to recruit an IRO to join their Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Service. This position is a full time role offering hybrid working. Pay rate is £49.88 per hour.
You will be responsible for Chairing Child Protection Conferences, overseeing the progress of child protection plans, undertaking midway reviews to prevent drift and delay and escalate any issues of drift and delay / increase in risk / social work practice. The role also includes the role of Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), IRO's work with children in care, this being a statutory role. IRO's are responsible for reviewing the care planning for all children in care of the local authority. The post holder will be expected to utilise the dispute resolution pathway where there are concerns about care planning or social work practice, as well as highlighting strengths and good outcomes for children and their families. The third element of the role involved allegations management, providing duty cover for the role of Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -
- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
