Family Safeguarding - Social Worker

 

Pay rate - £38

We are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to support Safeguarding Teams on a temporary basis while permanent recruitment continues.

The role involves undertaking duty work for children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, including work within pre-proceedings and care proceedings. You will operate within a well-established Family Safeguarding Model, working alongside adult-focused practitioners specialising in substance misuse, domestic abuse and mental health to inform robust assessments and plans.

You will work directly with parents and wider family networks, with access to Family Group Conferencing, to build on strengths, address risks and support meaningful change. You will be supported by permanent Team Managers through regular reflective supervision, both individual and group-based.

The local authority offers a supportive and collaborative working environment, with a strong focus on motivational interviewing and multi-agency working. Social workers are provided with up-to-date technology, including virtual working tools, and supported with recording through Magic Notes.

Additional information

The role is based in Shepton Mallet. Flexible working is available, however office attendance is expected for the majority of the working week due to duty and visit requirements. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
