We are recruiting an Experienced Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team at Swindon Borough Council.

This specialist team is committed to ensuring that disabled children and young people in Swindon are appropriately safeguarded and supported to achieve their full potential. Practice within the service is informed by current research and innovative approaches, with a strong focus on high-quality, child-centred interventions.

The Disabled Children’s Safeguarding and Support Team is co-located at the Saltway Centre alongside multi-agency partners, enabling a truly holistic and joined-up service for disabled children, young people and their families. This integrated way of working supports timely decision-making, effective information sharing and improved outcomes.

Swindon Borough Council recognises that disabled children are statistically more vulnerable to abuse than their non-disabled peers and has therefore developed a bespoke specialist service. The team is made up of highly motivated and experienced social workers with expertise in both safeguarding and disability, offering a supportive and knowledgeable working environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner seeking to work within a specialist team that values expertise, reflective practice and meaningful multi-agency collaboration.

Additional information:
Candidates living 50 miles or more from Swindon are entitled to claim a flat rate of £100 per week, which can be used towards accommodation or mileage costs.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

• A relevant Social Work Qualification
• Registration with Social Care Wales
• Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
• 3 Years of referencing
• Driving license with access to a car
