Social Worker – Children with Disabilities (CHAD Team)
Cardiff County Council – (Agile Working)
Initial 3-Month Contract
Full Time | Monday – Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Child Health & Disability (CHAD) Team in Cardiff. This is a fantastic team that works in true partnership with families and professionals, delivering strengths-based practice and meaningful outcomes for children with complex needs.

The Role
You will be:

Working alongside a multi-agency team of professionals in partnership with families

Using the Signs of Safety approach to underpin your practice

Completing Wellbeing Assessments
-
Undertaking Child Protection enquiries
-
Developing and reviewing Care & Support Plans
-
Supporting families within a multi-agency framework
-
Attending Child Protection Conferences, CLA Reviews and Court (where required)
-
Providing specialist advice across wider Children’s Services in respect of children with additional needs

Participating in the team duty rota and regular team meetings
-
Producing high-quality written and verbal work
-
Offering peer support to Newly Qualified Social Workers
The team operates a flexible, hybrid model – a mix of home working, agile visits and office presence at County Hall.
What You’ll Need
-
Degree or Masters in Social Work (or equivalent)
-
Experience within a Child Health & Disability Team
-
Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
-
Minimum 6 months’ UK experience as a registered Social Worker

Registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England
-
Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
-
3 years of referencing
-
Full driving licence and access to a car
