Children Looked After, Corporate Parenting - Social Worker
Pay rate - £38 Umbrella
Devon Council
We are seeking Experienced Social Workers for our South & West teams, supporting children and young people in our care. Focussing on family-led outcomes you will build and maintain positive relationships with children and young people, and their families to achieve safety and stability. You will model high standards of professional social work practice and will be used to working at pace, within a high pressurised environment. You will provide good quality assessments to ensure improved consistent outcomes for our children and young people, with no drift or delay for families.
Your skills and experience will include:
• A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Satisfactory completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
• Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work.
• Good assessment, recording and SMART planning skills.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
Social Workers need to be available to cover their allocations and visit children as necessary to meet service needs. Hybrid working is available, to be discussed during interview.

- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
