We are currently recruiting for an experienced Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) to join a supportive and well-established Community Mental Health Team in North Powys based at Ladywell House.

This role is based within the Newtown CMHT, where you’ll benefit from strong multi-disciplinary working and excellent relationships with health colleagues, contributing to meaningful outcomes for local communities. 

About the Role

• Manage a varied and balanced caseload with mixed complexity
• Undertake duties under the Mental Health Act
• Participate in the AMHP rota
• Work within a well-managed team with regular supervision and strong leadership
• Flexible hybrid working – a mix of office (Fan Gorau, Newtown) and home-based working
• 37-hour week with the option of condensed hours (4-day week available)

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A recognised Social Work qualification
• Current registration with Social Care Wales (or Social Work England)
• AMHP qualification
• Minimum of 6 months’ UK experience as a registered Social Worker
• Enhanced DBS (on the update service or willingness to apply)
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
• 3 years of references

Please note: The Local Authority will require re-warranting, so access to your AMHP portfolio is desirable.
