Interview

After we receive your application, one of our dedicated consultants will contact you to schedule an interview. This is a chance for you to share your unique experience and expertise while allowing us to better understand the type of work you're seeking and how we can best support your career goals.

Onboarding

After your interview, our team will work persistently to get you cleared and ready for work. The speed of the compliance process depends on how quickly you provide all the necessary documentation, which includes:

  • Up-to-date CV
  • A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service (if your DBS is not on the update service, we won't be able to use it and will need to process a new DBS for you)
  • Proof of registration
  • Proof of national insurance (P45/P60)
  • Proof of address dated within the last 3 months (Bank statement / Utility bill)
  • Right to Work (Passport / Birth certificate / Share code)
  • Valid form of ID
  • Proof of relevant qualifications and training
  • Overseas Police Check If you have lived abroad for a period over 6 months within the last 5 years

  • This referral scheme is open to qualified social workers only.
  • Referrals must be made for candidates who have not previously been registered in our database.
  • To qualify for the referral reward, the referred candidate must:
  • Complete a minimum of 6 weeks in a full-time temporary role (or the equivalent in part-time hours), or
  • Complete a minimum of 12 weeks in a permanent role
  • The referred candidate must have no prior record in our database before the referral is made.
  • Referral rewards will be issued only after the referred candidate has completed the required tenure in the role (as outlined above).
  • Hoop Social Work reserves the right to modify or terminate the referral scheme at any time without notice.
  • The referred candidate must meet all the necessary qualifications and experience to be considered for the role.
  • The person being referred must give explicit permission for their details to be shared with us before the referral is made.
  • Referrals made without consent will be considered invalid.

How do I get paid?

  • You will be paid weekly on a Friday provided your timesheet has been submitted and approved by the required deadlines
  • You will always be paid a week in arrears
  • It is your responsibility to submit your timesheet and ensure it’s approved. We are unable to contact your manager directly to ask for approval

Hoop Social Work can support with permanent and temporary positions across Wales and the South West of England.

The time frame for filling a position depends on the role, particularly for positions in more rural areas or those that are harder to fill. However, we will always provide an estimated time frame and offer transparent communication from the outset when discussing your vacancy.

At the outset, consultants will pre-screen suitable candidates through the use of an interview form, this will clarify the role requirements (ie. What team, location, office days, clarification of the pay rate, in line with the All Wales Pledge etc.) If the candidate is deemed suitable for the required assignments (Qualified Social Work Roles) the process to complete all checks will be triggered. Once triggered, Hoops in house compliance team start the checking process. An application pack will be sent to the candidate (if they’re new to Hoop, existing candidates will already have this on file), the pack contains key information that must be completed, including:
  • Basic information, name, address, contact details
  • Confirmation of qualifications and professional registration body
  • Next of kin details
  • 48hr Opt Out (Working Time Regulations 1998)
  • Rehabilitation of offender's act (1974)
  • Referee details (x3)
  • Disqualification for caring for children checklist
  • Full work history
  • Date and signature declaration stating all the above information is true and accurate and they’re happy for their details to be shared for work seeking purposes.
Along with the above, the candidate will also be in receipt of a bank information document (for payment purposes whilst on assignment) and a contract for services between the induvial and Hoop Recruitment. On sending the application pack, the compliance team will also request identity documentation to conduct a right to work check an enhanced DBS check and professional registration check and any other documents that are a requirement of the role. The requested documents are:
  • Passport and/or Full Birth certificate
  • Driving Licence (if applicable)
  • Proof of National Insurance Number
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of Visa or work permits (if applicable)
  • Proof of Social Work Degree (or recognised equivalent if qualified outside of the UK)
  • Social Care Wales registration number (as a qualified Social Worker)
  • Account for any gaps in their employment history (if applicable)
  • Enhanced DBS certificate and number (if registered with the online update service)
  • Disclosure of any offences if present on their DBS certificate (this must be declared upfront and will be reviewed as part of their suitability to undertake the role)
  • Confirmation of access to a vehicle and have business insurance
  • Any relevant training certificates
