Job Description

Youth Engagement Officer

Hoop PS&HR are proud to be working closely with a forward thinking and employee focused organisation who are looking for a Youth Engagement Officer to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. This position is based in Pontypool and comes with a salary of up to £27,000.

As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in identifying and engaging young learners who have left education. The role involves building strong relationships with local organisations, schools, and community groups to promote opportunities and support young people in accessing development programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and recruit new learners to youth-focused programmes.
  • Conduct outreach through events, community engagement, phone calls, and digital platforms.
  • Build meaningful relationships with young learners to understand their needs and motivations.
  • Promote available programmes and services to both individuals and organisations
  • Attend events and represent the organisation in the community.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with schools, local authorities, community centres, voluntary organisations, and youth networks.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to generate referrals and learner interest.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for young people joining the programme, working closely with internal teams.
  • Actively promote all available services and development opportunities.
  • Support the visibility of the organisation through consistent, professional communication and engagement.
  • Keep accurate records to support reporting and performance tracking.
  • Participate in training, team meetings, and development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting wider team goals.
Key Requirements:

  • Experience working within education, training, youth development, or community projects.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Excellent communication, IT, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles.
