Job Description

Hoop PS & HR are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Assessor on behalf of one of our valued clients in the training industry. This full-time (35 hours), permanent role is based in Cardiff, offering a salary of £25,200–£26,780.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Assessor to deliver high-quality training and assessment, support learners in the workplace, and contribute to positive learner outcomes while maintaining compliance with awarding body and organisational quality standards.

Duties
  • Deliver engaging training programmes and workplace assessments to assigned learners.

  • Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and map learning routes.

  • Reference, assess, and mark learner evidence against qualification requirements.

  • Maintain accurate learner attendance, progress, and audit records.

  • Facilitate tests and support day-release or in-house training as required.

  • Ensure compliance with Award Body regulations and internal quality processes.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and identify business opportunities.

  • Provide additional support to learners when needed.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop training materials and improve course delivery.

  • Adhere to safeguarding, health & safety, lone working, and organisational policies.

  • Maintain knowledge of Work Based Learning Professional Standards, Education Workforce Code of Practice, and company Code of Conduct.

  • Meet agreed performance targets and KPIs.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Occupational experience within the relevant Children & Young People training pathways.

  • Experience delivering training and assessments within the required sector.

  • CAVA or equivalent Assessor qualification.

  • Experience of Work Based Learning and Award Body practices.

  • ESW Communication Level 2 and Application of Number Level 2.

  • Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • IT literate and able to maintain accurate records.

  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and Prevent.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and able to work under pressure.

Desirable Skills & Experience
  • TAQA qualification or equivalent.

  • Apprenticeship delivery experience within relevant pathways.

  • City & Guilds 9300 Level 2 in supporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills (or willingness to work towards).

  • Knowledge of ESW requirements and public-funded training schemes.

  • Ability to communicate in Welsh.
