HR Officer – 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Cardiff (site-based)
Salary: Circa £30,000
Interviews: From 12th January
Hoop PS & HR are delighted to be partnering with an innovative Cardiff-based organisation to recruit a confident and proactive HR Officer on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the CEO, a qualified HR professional, you will gain broad exposure across the HR function and have opportunities for growth and development even within this short-term assignment.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an individual looking to enhance their experience and elevate their skill set. It is a hands-on role for someone comfortable managing Employee Relations casework, providing HR advice, and supporting managers across a variety of HR processes. You will work autonomously while contributing to the wider people strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage Employee Relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, investigations, appeals, and long-term absence.
- Advise managers on performance management, difficult conversations, and workforce planning.
- Support HR operations, including onboarding, contracts, benefits, and HR record-keeping.
- Review and update HR policies to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Use HR data to inform decisions and improve HR processes.
- Confident handling Employee Relations cases.
- Strong advisory skills and knowledge of UK employment law.
- Organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
