HR Business Partner – 6 Month FTC

Location: Truro, Cornwall • Start: ASAP

Play a pivotal role in shaping people strategy during a period of transformation.

We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is ready to make a real difference. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of a large NHS Trust, supporting senior leaders to deliver people and OD priorities that directly impact staff experience and patient care.

Why join?

  • Be part of a high-profile project with visible impact across the organisation.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, giving you a true seat at the table to influence workforce decisions.
  • Gain exposure to major organisational change and contribute to shaping the future of healthcare services.
  • Join a supportive People & OD team, where collaboration and development are at the core.
  • Enjoy the variety-no two days are the same, from strategic planning to hands-on problem-solving.
What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with senior leaders to drive workforce and OD priorities that align to Care Group objectives.
  • Lead on complex employee relations matters (including medical workforce cases), ensuring fair, timely outcomes.
  • Support large-scale organisational change, workforce redesign and service transformation.
  • Shape and deliver proactive recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Use workforce data and KPIs to influence decision-making and improve performance.
  • Build strong relationships with staffside colleagues and external partners to promote best practice.
About you

  • Proven experience as a senior HR Business Partner in a large, unionised setting (NHS or comparable).
  • Chartered MCIPD (or equivalent) with strong employment law knowledge.
  • Skilled at leading change, with excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical, commercial, and confident in making decisions on sensitive, complex issues.
What’s on offer

  • A fixed-term contract (6 months) with the opportunity to make a big impact quickly.
  • The chance to lead on key projects while supporting day-to-day people challenges.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available to support work–life balance.
  • A welcoming, supportive culture where your expertise will be valued.
