Hoop PS & HR are excited to partner with a leading professional services organisation to recruit a Payroll & HR Advisor.
This is a hands-on payroll role with HR variety—ideal for someone who thrives on getting payroll right first time and enjoys supporting a busy HR function.
Why you’ll love this role
- Impact from day one – you’ll own end-to-end payroll for around 700 employees across two UK sites, streamlining processes and spotting improvements.
- Supportive team culture – join a collaborative three-person team where your expertise will be valued and you can coach colleagues as they develop.
- Balanced flexibility – work a stable 9 am–5 pm week with three days in the office (Thursday fixed) and two from home.
- Career progression – this role offers a natural stepping stone to Payroll Manager level.
- Manage full end-to-end payroll independently, from processing to statutory reporting.
- Check and correct outsourced payroll files, ensuring absolute accuracy and compliance.
- Improve controls and streamline processes, reducing errors and increasing efficiency.
- Issue contracts, manage HR queries and the shared inbox.
- Support employee relations cases, attending disciplinaries and grievance meetings.
- Keep HRIS records up to date and assist with ad hoc HR projects.
- Proven background running end-to-end UK payroll, not just checking others’ work.
- Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and a track record of process improvements.
- HR generalist skills with confidence to support employee relations.
- Advanced Excel (including VLOOKUP) and familiarity with ResourceLink, iCIMS or similar systems.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
