Job Description

HR Advisor

Cardiff City Centre | Hybrid Working | Circa £36,000 Enhanced Benefits

Hoop Professional Services & HR are delighted to be supporting an award-winning organisation within the professional services sector, which has continued to grow from strength to strength, and is now seeking a HR Advisor to join their team.

This Cardiff city-centre-based role offers hybrid working (initially office-based, moving to 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely), with occasional travel across other sites as required. The organisation provides a supportive and collaborative environment, with 32 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays), a company-paid health cash plan, pension scheme with employer contribution, tech and cycle to work schemes, staff discounts, and life assurance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, ER-focused HR professional who enjoys managing complex cases, providing pragmatic advice, and using data and insight to drive improvements across people practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries across the business
  • Manage complex employee relations cases end-to-end, including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management
  • Provide confident, practical advice to managers, using initiative and judgement on a case-by-case basis
  • Support line managers with the interpretation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures
  • Analyse people data and metrics (e.g. absence, attrition trends) to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Make data-driven recommendations to improve people processes and employee outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple sites, supporting a collaborative, inclusive workplace culture
  • Contribute to onboarding, HR projects, and continuous improvement initiatives

To be successful in this role, you will be CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) with experience in an HR advisory role. You will have a strong background in employee relations, including handling complex cases independently, and be confident advising managers and influencing decisions.

You’ll be curious, analytical, and enjoy using insight and data to make practical recommendations. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with a flexible, proactive approach. Building strong relationships comes naturally to you, and you take pride in supporting managers and colleagues with clear, thoughtful advice.

If you’re an experienced HR Advisor with a genuine passion for people and a track record in employee relations, we’d love to hear from you.

Interviews are taking place on a rolling basis – don’t wait to apply. Reach out to Emmy Bevan directly today to take the next step.
