Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant (Additional Learning Needs)
Location: Powys, Wales
Salary: £90-95 per day (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Supply / Temporary
About the Role
We are currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) across primary and secondary schools in Powys.
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, supporting both their academic progress and emotional wellbeing. You may work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Help implement individual education plans and support strategies
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Requirements
- A caring and patient approach when working with children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs
- Experience working with children or young people (preferred)
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Previous experience supporting pupils with ALN or SEN
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, psychology, or support work
- Experience working with pupils with autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs
