Community Mental Health Team Social Worker
Cardiff
up to £30.50 PAYE / £39.96 Umbrella per hour
A Locum Social Worker is required to join Cardiff's Community Mental Health team for an initial 3-6 month contract. This is an onsite role based at the Hamadryad Centre, at Cardiff Bay. Ideally you will be able to commit to a full time contract of 37 hours per week. Applications welcome from those wishing to work less hours.
If you are a creative, enthusiastic social worker with a sound value base, who has experience of working with people who experience co-occurring mental ill health and substance misuse Hoop Social Work would love to hear from you.
In this role, you will need to be organised and able to prioritise competing job demands. You will also have a strong belief in empowering adults towards independence using the Recovery Model and be proactive in challenging discrimination.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and you will have good communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with a range of partners. You will be expected to be conversant with relevant legislation and concepts of best practice. Knowledge of the principals underpinning the Care and Treatment Planning approach is desirable. You should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing people who experience mental ill health/ substance misuse and their carers.

- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
