Description

Bristol City Council are looking for a new Head of Early Intervention and Targeted Support Services to drive forward the Family Hubs and Supporting Families Work over the next few months. This role will be an initial 6 month contract with the rate of pay being £350 a day. 

Job Purpose

  • Providing vision and leadership for Early Intervention across the city and raising Bristol’s profile in this area of work. Developing excellent, integrated early help and targeted support services for children, young people and families, designed to identify problems early and reduce escalation.
  • To champion Early Intervention throughout the city. To provide strategic leadership for a portfolio of partnerships, services and commissions which promote Early Intervention. 
    Through effective and proactive targeting, identify children, young people and families who could benefit from early support in order to reduce the risk of further escalation. Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, thresholds observed and evidence is collected to demonstrate impact.
  • Provide vision and leadership for Youth Offending Team. Provide strategic leadership within the YOT partnership.
  • Provide vision and leadership for work of Safer Communities. Raise Bristol’s profile in this area of work and provide strategic leadership across the partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with other organisations locally and nationally to share best practice, develop an evidence base and champion Early Intervention across the city.
  • Lead development of the city-wide, multi-agency Think Family approach, including coordination of the Troubled Families programme, maximising the number of families benefiting and provide evidence of impact.
  • Lead integrated teams, with colleagues from the council and other agencies, including the Youth Offending Team and Early Help. Ensuring excellent practice, consistency of thresholds and an ethos of whole family working that aims to help people to help themselves.
  • Leadership and management of partnerships, services and networks, within the Council and across the city. Promoting innovation and seeking opportunities to develop new service models in order to drive change and continuous improvement.
  • Provide evidence of impact and improved outcomes, through relevant PIs, inspection judgements, quality assurance information from commissioners and use our data to predict and prevent future need.
  • Ensure resources are creatively and efficiently utilised to appropriately and effectively manage fluctuating levels of demand/capacity and demonstrate value for money
  • Work with key partners, including schools, to generate funding that will secure this approach for the longer term
  • Lead Safer Communities service across the partnership. Promote innovation and seek opportunities to develop the provision of the service.

To apply for this role you will need to hold a social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. You will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure unless on the update service.
