Powys County Council are looking for an Adult Safeguarding Social Worker on an initial 3 month contract. The pay rate is negotiable dependent on experience. 

Duties will include:


  • To take actions from screening adult safeguarding reports and ensure rigour in decision making is evident. This will include reviewing reports made and collating any relevant information.
  • To undertake Section 126 enquiries competently. This will include the ability to have confident discussions with the adult at risk and there representatives and alleged abusers.
  • To undertake any relevant case work (where required).
  • To liaise where strategy meetings are required and ensure that the meetings are convened.
  • To liaise with providers about safeguarding reports and concerns
  • To be available to discuss safeguarding concerns with the front door and ensure
  • To attend MAAP / MARAC type meetings and ensure appropriate records are kept of the meetings.
  • To attend adult safeguarding meetings and/or case conferences where required to present information that supports professionals’ decision making.
  • To complete safeguarding related tasks delegated to them by the team manager specialist safeguarding social worker / Designated Officers for Safeguarding.
  • To ensure robust and defensible decision making is kept relating to decisions about adult safeguarding.
