Due to increased demand, Hoop Education are currently recruiting candidates in the Vale of Glamorgan, for the following position:

Additional Learning Needs Support Assistant

All qualified applicants that register and work with Hoop will:

● Be paid between £60 and £80 per day, dependant on level of referenceable experience and nature of post applied for

● Be allocated a specialist education consultant with extensive experience in the profession, who will work closely with you to identify opportunities for continued professional development 

● Have access to our in-house training facility where you will have the opportunity to complete certified courses such as Positive Behaviour Management (Breakaway and Restraints), Classroom Management and Learning Strategies and Autism Awareness. You will also be given direct access to our online training platform where you can complete a range of specialised e-modules. 

Duties for this post will include:
  • Providing physical and communicative support using appropriate modes of communication, catering to the individual needs of the pupils
  • Enable full access to the curriculum and any extra-curricular activities
  • Work with individuals and groups of pupils in class with additional learning needs, under direction of the class teacher and/or SENCO
  • Help plan and organise learning activities for pupils to promote pupil progress
  • Provide support in a manner which facilitates the pupils' cognitive development, by removing barriers to learning 
  • Ensuring physical welfare of pupils and assisting with physical needs as appropriate and agreed e.g. assisting with lifting, moving and handling and intimate care
  • Clarifying, modifying and adapting learning materials according to pupil needs
  • Contribute to setting individual pupil targets and reviewing previous targets to assess progress
  • Modelling positive behaviour and dealing with disruption according to school behaviour policy 
  • Promote pupil inclusion throughout the school
  • Promote independence skills 
Prior to post allocation, each applicant will be asked to provide:
  • Copies of qualifications relevant to the post
  • Education Workforce Council Registration
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate 
  • Right to Work documentation 
  • Evidence of working within a setting supporting children with ALN
