Description
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with additional learning needs? Hoop Education are seeking dedicated and experienced 1:1 Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistants to join our inclusive and supportive team.

Role Overview:

As a 1:1 Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing individualized support to a student with additional learning needs within our primary school setting. You will work closely with the class teacher, special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis or within a small classroom environment
  • Provide tailored support to meet the specific needs of the assigned student, both academically and emotionally.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the student's academic and social progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student, promoting independence and self-esteem.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and external professionals involved in the student's support network.
  • Keep accurate records of the student's progress and contribute to the assessment and evaluation process.
Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3, CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools).
  • Previous experience working with children with additional learning needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of all students.
