- Youth Offending Social Worker
A fantastic opportunity has become available to join a South Wales' Local Authorities Youth Justice Service for an initial 6 month contract. Due to Covid-19 you will initially be based at home for this role.
In order to apply for this role you will need to have an understanding of the criminal justice system as it affects children and young people (aged 10 –17) who offend; a practical understanding of the principles of restorative justice and restorative approaches and have experience of working with disaffected children and young people.
You will have experience of undertaking assessments and managing complex cases, in addition to planning appropriate and targeted interventions to reduce the risk of offending/re-offending. You will also have the ability to write high quality reports including preparing sentencing proposals and will present information to the Courts when required.
This post is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced checks. You will need to be a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Care Wales or a Probation Officer.
