We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants for long- and short-term roles in schools across South Wales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both in classroom settings and in small-group or 1:1 interventions
- Assist class teachers in delivering personalised learning activities and differentiated lessons
- Support behaviour management and emotional regulation in line with school policies
- Encourage students' social development, independence, and self-confidence
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals (e.g., Speech & Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists)
- Monitor and report pupil progress, contributing to student support plans
- Be a positive role model, contributing to the school’s inclusive and supportive ethos
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one with Hoop Education’s support)
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or Health & Social Care
- Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or classroom environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to meeting pupil needs
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and SENCOs
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
